He was born on the 26th of September 1958 in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. His zeal for integrity in the Nigeria Customs Service and his contributions to the Nigerian society at large have earned him many accolades both locally and internationally.

At the moment, he is a Senior Lecturer in English and Coordinator for French in the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Ondo State.

As a poet and lecturer in English, Dr. Agbaje has quite a number of his works published and some of them are internationally recognized. His poems “Edward Gone Bedward” and “I am a Nigerian” have also been turned into music in collaboration with Paramount Song, 3212 West End Ave #402, Nashville, TN 37203, USA.

When not composing poems, Dr. Agbaje enjoys playing table tennis and badminton. His marriage to his late wife, Esther Oluwemimo Agbaje, produced five children and nine grandchildren. He is now happily married to Dr. Funmilayo Joy Agbaje.
