She was 61 years on 26 April 2021. The children organized from abroad her birthday celebration in Akure as if they knew it would be her last celebration.
Esther Oluwemimo Agbaje’s 61st Birthday Celebration was on Monday 26 April 2021. Glory to God!
It was an unexpected twist of fate for me!
My wife was full of life on the Father’s Day of Sunday 20 June, 2021. We received guests till 8pm. The short but fatal drama lasted only 24hrs. It started by 9pm when she complained of slight nausea and vomited. The vomiting persisted and I called a doctor who advised that I should give her avomine tablet which I did.
By 12.30 am in the night she complained of increasing weakness. I rushed her to the hospital where she was admitted. In the morning, the doctor said she suffered from hypovolemic shock resulting from excessive vomiting which had injured her kidney. I never heard of that word before. By 8.30pm on Monday 21 June 2021, she lifted her quivering fingers in my direction, I held them and she said softly, “thank you Sweet, thank you Sweet, thank you Sweet.” She closed her eyes and slept with a smile on her lips. And she was gone. For a long time, I stood still by her bedside in shock, disbelief and absolute surrender. Well, God’s will is supreme. What else can I say? She has fulfilled destiny. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
